Mercy Isnt An Option Mercy Isnt An Option

no bass?

I like how you have so many different sections to this song. You have one part, and then the song changes to something else never playing the same part exactly alike. I kind of expected vocals, but it sounds good without them too.

It sounds like you used a drum machine, if you did the drum line is written and synced well. I liked this song so i'm gonna check out your other work.

Xerxes-Sangco responds:

Actually there is bass, but when I put it louder thers alot of clipping going on so i just leave it at a lower volume. Yea I used a Drum Machine since I only have a guitar but oh well hehe... Thanks, i appreciate you checking out my work and reviewing! I'm glad you liked it! =D

yes

I love the tune in this one. It's like down tempo techno with a trancy kind of twist to it. Seriously one of the catchiest melodies i've heard on the audio portal. Great work.

o ye

cool song. I like your style. For some reason this song seems like it should be in a TV show or movie, like in a crime thriller or something. The bassline is hypnotic and the phased thing u have going on the background is some cool fx. I have a question tho, u write this from scratch or mix loops or do both?

Zydar responds:

I did this my self, i just used i think 2 drum loops at diffrent times to fill in the drums so it sounds all full. So both...

needs a lot of work

it's ok but that clip noise is annoying. You should use a sound edit program to fade out the end of the sample if it is a sample. If not, then you should still try to do something about it. Also that high glockenspiel sounding part was in a different key than the rest of the song.

good start

It's alright. You could do a lot more with it and the way you put it together sounds like it's one of your first songs. The sounds were a little muffled and some of your tracks didn't really add to the song in a good way. Like that percussion/bassline thing at the beginning kind of hurt my ears and the way you doubled up the melody line in the bass part wasn't all that creative. Sorry to tear your song up like that, but I'm saying all this because I really think there are some good points. The melody was fantastic and if you wrote it yourself I think it's pretty incredible. It sounds trancey and the phasing goes with it nicely.

If it's your first song it's a good start and you could develope your composition skills a lot if you keep at it. Keep that melody line for another song cuz when you get good at making music, it would make a good foundation for a song.

what's the frequency?

I liked it a lot. It was very minimalist and had a nice beat. I think you should have developed it more though since the song doesn't really seem to go anywhere and you basically just threw in and cut loops out without any real musical development. I can't help thinking that you could have really burned it up with some killer synchopating beats and overlapping rhythms. It's a good start in any case. I wouldn't really classify this as drum and bass either since there's no bass and drum and bass implies the song has a breakbeat and this song had your simple 4 on the floor thump. I'd put it either in the miscellaneous or techno category but hey, labels don't mean much.

hey DJ

Yet another great trance song. You seriously got some skills when it comes to making trance. I really liked the rhythm, had a groovy feel to it. The only thing i didn't really like is the sustained note that lasts for a good portion of the song. It gets to be a little much after a while. I forgot to mention this in my review of Zombies but could you please send me the full version of that song? My email is cadieuxdaniel@hotmail.com and my AIM is MusunguJim. If u can, transfer the file over either MSN or AIM. Thanks.

Thumpin'

That was awesome. I love goa/psy trance and it's pretty rare to see people submit that particular genre to NG. Loved the song although the bassline could have been a little more interesting and the quality could have been better. Great melodies and I loved the slides. The beat had me bobbing my head and I almost got out of my chair and danced. Capital.

oh oh oh oho

Man this is great! It sounds really professional and i could definatly see this being played at a progressive trance event. A little poppy for my taste but the actual craft was flawless. Love the samples, they were all used to a great effect and your lead synth is like...perfect. The little zombie nation tribute was a nice touch to make this an anthem type track. It sucks NG only lets u submit 4 megs cuz u could make this song a proper 6 or 7 minute trance anthem.

malibaba responds:

wow thanks man=D realy nice to hear.
